EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SHEARED HIGH-STRENGTH BOLTED CONNECTIONS
FABRICATED OF HIGH STRENGTH FIRE-RESISTANT STEEL AT HIGH TEMPERATURE

With the development of the steel structure, high-strength bolted connections are widely used in various structural forms. However, with the increasing number of the steel structure, the problem that the strength and stiffness of steel are greatly reduced at high temperature is also becoming more and more prominent. However, for the high strength bolted connections, the number of the fire resistance research is few. Recently, Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Company developed a new type of high performance steel with high strength and improved fire resistance, which is designated as WGJ460. This paper introduces a series of experimental study on sheared high-strength bolted connections at high temperature. A total of 18 tests were included in the experiment, including different diameter of bolt, strength of bolt and temperature. The tests show that the shear bearing capacity and ultimate bearing capacity of the connections reduce to less than 30% when temperature reaches 600℃. In addition, the failure mode of the same specimen will change at different temperature.
